WARNING : The below information is useful, but above all understand that the End Times are not for this age. The Antichrist is not yet on this planet (whatever the speculation may say), nor is the False Prophet - and they will not come for hundreds of years. There is work to be done before ever the earth reaches that point.
It is important to keep an eye on breaking news, but do not let the news overwhelm you with doom and gloom. Keep informed, but be aware that if you are a believer, you have access to powers far stronger than the powers of darkness in this world, and you need to learn to use them. God is about to move on this planet in unprecedented ways. For more information, check out our Kingdom Age pages.
God created man with the greatest gift He could bestow - free will. It was His intention that men fellowship with Him and each other in managing and developing God's ongoing creation, in a spirit of love, peace and harmony. God did not want robots, he wanted a loving, creative relationship, freely given and received.
If you are still balking about the idea of a creation CLICK HERE.
Man has exercised his gift of free will to go against God's wishes and pursue destruction, evil, hatred, disharmony and indifference to God, and in spite of warnings, he continues to do this.
God's final plan for the redemption of mankind was to make salvation available through His son, Jesus Christ, and for Jesus to return to this earth and establish His kingdom of peace, initially on earth, and later in the New Earth. (Psalm 2 and Revelation 21) Part of this plan is that people should be given the opportunity to accept or reject this relationship, during their lifetime. We are given this life to decide which course we wish to follow - good, or evil / indifference - before the end comes.
For those who accept God's offer, there will be an eternity in which they participate in God's wonderful creativity and plans. For those who reject or are indifferent, there will, naturally enough, be an eternity without God - and it can hardly be expected to be pleasant.
The End Times In Bible Prophecy
God has already foretold in many passages in the Bible, how the end will play out. It is consoling for us to know that goodness will triumph, and that as part of the setting up of His kingdom of peace, Jesus will thoroughly defeat the forces of evil. But as we are clearly told, those forces are not going down without a huge fight.
Before Jesus returns, Satan will be working overtime to set up his greatest desire - a desire he had from the moment he first rebelled against God and was cast out. Satan wants to have his own kingdom, in which all people will be obliged to worship him. (No free will here, note!) Here is how Bible prophecy tells us this will happen, before Jesus steps in:
The Antichrist and The False Prophet
The key players in this plot will be 2 men - a temporal world leader - The Antichrist, 'The Beast' or 'The Beast out of the Sea' and a spiritual world leader - The False Prophet or 'The Beast out of the Earth', who will promote the Antichrist, using his own position of spiritual authority. We are told that these two will perpetrate many deceptions to gain themselves a following. These deceptions will not only be lies and fabrications, but also false miracles and displays of power - so many will be deceived. These men will be under Satan's control. "For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect." Jesus' words in Mark 13:22.
The New World Order
To give these men absolute power, a new world order will be required, incorporating a One World Government and a One World Religion, and this will be promoted as the only way to solve the world's problems. (Revelation 13 :2, 7-8)Both of these institutions are in the process of evolving right now (see 'The Illuminati Threat' on this site):
One World Government is taking shape under the auspices of the United Nations. The signing of the UN Sustainable Development Goals by all countries of the world in September 2015 is the precursor for this. Ushered in as the panacea for world poverty, pollution, environmental shortcomings, educational inequality - a total of 17 perceived issues that need addressing worldwide, this protocol may have looked innocuous enough - desirable even. But the potential power this agreement gives to the United Nations to monitor and enforce these protocols over the heads of governments, local bodies, industries and individuals, is mind-boggling.
Big Brother will most certainly be watching You, and will make use of satellites, drones, electronic information of all kinds, and tale tattlers to do it. Is this happening already? Yes!
One World Religion.
For the first time in history, steps are being taken to bring religious beliefs down to a common denominator. Pope Francis has been working overtime to forge ties with other religions and with breakaway Christian groups - the Protestant movement for example is scheduled to go back into the fold with the Roman Catholic Church formally in 2017. The Pope has also been having talks with religious leaders outside the Christian denominations. The ultimate goal will be a One World Religion, and of necessity that will mean a huge watering down of beliefs and doctrines. The final result will be a church in apostasy (abandonment of core principles of faith - many of which are already being eroded in churches right now). And people will be expected to subscribe to that, or be persecuted as 'extremists'.
NOTE: It would be a good thing if Christian factions and denominations would stop nitpicking at each other and start working harmoniously for the Lord. That is not the same thing as the 'one world religion'.
'World War 3'
In Revelation 9: 13-16, the Bible prophesies that a war will occur that will wipe out "one third of mankind". This war will start by the Euphrates River - and fighting has been going on up and down the Euphrates since 2003.
It was prophesied by Isaiah that Damascus would be totally destroyed: "Look! Damascus will cease to be a city. Instead, it will become a pile of ruins." Isaiah 17:1. Right now (March 2016), the vast city of Damascus is two thirds empty, containing mostly terrorists and militia. And there is a huge build-up of forces around Syria - Russia, Turkey, USA are the obvious protagonists right now, but Iran and even Saudi Arabia look like being implicated.
SO, it isn't possible to say exactly when this war will escalate, although fighting is breaking out across the Turkish-Syrian border as we speak, and both Russia and the US are still stepping up military deployment in the area. If this war does escalate it is uncertain whether it will become the war of Revelation 9:15, and that is probably unlikely at this present time. The war that is prophesied to destroy one third of the world's population is well into the future.
The Final 7 Years Before Armageddon: The Tribulation
The coming of the end will be ushered in by the signing by the Antichrist of a peace treaty or ceasefire with Israel. The signing of this agreement will mark the beginning of a seven year period before the showdown of Armageddon. AS mentioned above, the Antichrist is not alive at the present time, and is unlikely to appear for several hundred years.
The Two Witnesses and the First 3.5 Years
The Bible tells of 2 men whom God will send to call people back to Him before it is too late. Their work will take place in Israel, but via the media their outreach will touch the rest of the world. These men are called The Two Witnesses, and it looks as if they will carry the anointing of the prophets of old. Like the prophets, they will create a revival, and just like the prophets of old they will be hated by people who do not want to hear their message. What is new?
"And I will appoint my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth.” Revelation 11:3. Revelation 11 says these two witnesses will have holy power to turn water into blood, call down plagues and stop the rain. During this time, it will be impossible to kill them.
At the end of the 3.5 years, once their job is done, the 2 witnesses will finally be slain, and their bodies will be left lying unburied in the streets of Jerusalem for 3 days. They will then revive and be taken up to heaven in the sight of all onlookers, as proof of the validity of their message and works. (Revelation 11:11-13) It has been suggested that these 2 men may be Moses and Elijah.
Meantime, the power of the Antichrist and the False Prophet will have been established.
The Second 3.5 Years, The Israeli War and The Battle of Armageddon
At the end of the first 3.5 years of the 7 year period, the Antichrist will break the ceasefire that was signed with Israel and prepare to make war on Israel - the country that Satan hates.
The Antichrist's other goal will be to declare himself a god and have all people of the world bow to his sovereignty. He will force people to take 'the mark of the beast' on their hand or forehead, by setting up a system that cuts off all those who do not accept the mark from buying, selling and holding jobs. "He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.” (Revelation 13:16) When we look at how money is managed in today's cashless society, the power to enforce that requirement would be just a short step away.
There will follow 3.5 years in which the reign of evil on earth will increase as the Antichrist consolidates his power. He will then set himself up for a showdown and demonstration of his might - the destruction of the nation of Israel, God's chosen people. The Antichrist will conscript a vast army from many nations to achieve this goal, and this force will bring Israel to its knees.
At this point, Jesus Christ will return to earth with a heavenly army and will wreak total destruction on the Antichrist, the False Prophet, and their massed armies in the battle of Armageddon on the Plain of Megiddo in northern Israel. Jesus will then proceed to Jerusalem to set up a reign of peace on earth to last for 1000 years: "They will neither harm nor destroy on all my holy mountain, for the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea." Isaiah 11:9. There is more to come, but suffice for this short account to say that Jesus' reign of peace will finally be established forever.
Where Will The Antichrist Come From and Is He Alive Now?
It must first be said that the Antichrist and the False Prophet are not on this earth right now, and they will not come for hundreds of years. WE are right now in the beginning of The Kingdom Age.
People ARE asking what part of the world the Antichrist and the False Prophet are going to come from. There are currently two schools of thought:
The Antichrist will come out of Europe, from the revived Holy Roman Empire, which already is in place, with the capital of the European Union in Brussels and the growing power of the United Nations. Commentaries that support this view are Endtime Ministries, and Israeli News Live.
The Antichrist will come from among the Arab nations (maybe even Turkey). There is evidence in Isaiah and Habakkuk to support this theory. See Walid Shoebat, Joel Richardson, and The Mark Of The Beast on this site. Amir Tsarfati however points out that no Moslem Antichrist would be willing to set up his throne in the Temple at Jerusalem.
The above commentators are all acting as if the End Times events are imminent. However, the coming of the Kingdom Age has yet to be fulfilled.
